How we source profiles
A profile is only useful if you can tell which parts to trust. So every fact in a Neruva profile carries a label, a date and, where it applies, the page it came from.
The five labels
- Verified: Neruva checked it with a defined procedure. Today that means the owner proved control of the company's domain.
- Confirmed by owner: the business's owner entered or approved it, on the date shown.
- From public source: read from the company's own website, with a link to the page and the date we read it.
- May be out of date: it was sourced or confirmed more than six months ago and hasn't been rechecked.
- Unknown: we have no evidence, so the profile says nothing.
Rules our profile builder follows
- It reads only the company's own website: the home page and a few pages such as About, Services and Contact.
- It follows robots.txt. If a site asks crawlers to stay out, we don't build a profile from it.
- It reads slowly, a handful of pages per company, and identifies itself as
NeruvaBot. - It uses the site's own structured data first (schema.org), then its page title and description.
- Lists such as services and industries may be picked out of page text with the help of a language model, but an item is kept only if it appears word for word on that page. Anything reworded or made up is thrown away.
- The category and city come from our own research list, and the profile says so.
- It never collects personal data about individuals. Contact details are only the business contact routes the company publishes.
Unclaimed means unclaimed
Until an owner claims a profile, it says so at the top, it offers no booking or requests, and it is kept out of search engine indexes. The business has not agreed to anything, so we don't act on its behalf.
Corrections and removal
Owners can correct anything by claiming the profile. To remove an unclaimed profile, email hello@neruva.io from an address at the company's domain and we'll remove it within two business days.
